Privacy

This is a personal portfolio, and it collects as little as possible. This page explains what is collected, why, and how to control it.

Contact and quote forms

If you send a message or a quote request, what you type (your name, email address, subject or project details, and the phone number, timeline and budget range if you give them) is passed to Web3Forms, a form-handling service, which delivers it to my email inbox. The forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, a bot check that may process technical signals such as your IP address and browser details; it only loads when you scroll to a form or start typing in it. I use what you send only to reply to you.

WhatsApp and phone

The WhatsApp buttons open a chat with me in WhatsApp, which is run by Meta. On the quote page the message is pre-filled from what you have typed in the form, so you can send the same text; you can edit it before you send, and nothing is sent to WhatsApp unless you press Send there. The phone buttons simply start a call. I use WhatsApp and phone details only to reply to you.

Analytics and cookies

With your permission, I use Google Analytics 4 to see how the site is used: which pages are visited, roughly where visitors come from, which devices and browsers they use, and which links, downloads and the contact and quote forms they use.

  • It is opt-in. Google's script is not requested, and no analytics cookies are set, unless you click Accept on the notice. If you decline, or your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, it is never loaded.
  • What it sets and records. Two first-party cookies, _ga and _ga_*, which last up to 13 months, and events such as page views, scrolling, outbound link clicks, résumé downloads, and a contact or quote form submission or a click on a WhatsApp or phone button (generate_lead with only the channel, never the content of your message). Google signals and ad personalisation are switched off, and no advertising features are used.
  • Where it goes. Google processes this data on its servers, which can be outside the UAE and the EU (see how Google uses data). Google Analytics keeps event data for the retention period set on the property, with a maximum of 14 months.
  • Changing your mind. Use the Privacy choices button in the footer at any time. Withdrawing consent stops measurement and deletes the analytics cookies.

I also use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. According to Cloudflare it does not use cookies or other client-side storage, and does not fingerprint or track you across sites, so it runs without a consent prompt.

Hosting

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like any web host, GitHub may process technical request data such as IP addresses in its server logs (see GitHub's privacy statement).

Your choices and rights

You can control cookies in your browser settings, and the site honours the Global Privacy Control signal. To ask what I hold about you from the contact or quote forms, or to have it deleted, email me at binmushtaq@gmail.com.
